Magical Elopement at Kvernufoss Waterfall, Iceland, Shayln & Bart

Starting the Elopement Day Together

Shayln and Bart chose to begin their elopement day by getting ready together. This decision created an atmosphere of shared moments and mutual anticipation, setting the stage for a day focused on their connection. The morning was dedicated to the couple crafting their vows. With authenticity at the forefront, Shayln and Bart took the time to express their commitment in words that resonated with their unique journey.

Shayln wanted to honour her father by taking the time right before the ceremony to reflect on his part of her life. Shayln has a special bond with her Dad and it meant a lot to her that they had a first look before the ceremony.

Exploring Iceland's Wild Beauty

One of the most astonishing things about Iceland is its wild and empty nature. Together we explored the Black Sand beach, spectacular views from the high top and glaciers. Shayln and Bart loved their time admiring the views and got to visit so many places without anyone else than us. The couple cherished the opportunity to visit these incredible locations without encountering anyone else. Having a private moment for their pictures was a priority, allowing them to immerse themselves fully in the beauty of Iceland's landscapes.

Shayln and Bart also read letters from their close friends on the black sand beach.

A Private Vow Exchange by a waterfall

After having their pictures taken in different locations, Shayln and Bart exchanged vows in front of their family members in front of a more private waterfall. The secluded setting added an extra layer of intimacy to the vow exchange, creating a shared moment for Shayln, Bart, and their close family members to witness and cherish.

Their elopement day was just the way they had wanted: relaxed, having privacy during their ceremony and visiting a couple of hidden gems. And to try out traditional Icelandic baked goods and hot dogs. Shayln and Bart's elopement by Kvernufoss Waterfall was a journey marked by shared moments, private exploration, and a commitment to authenticity. The simplicity of their choices and the emphasis on privacy allowed them to craft a day that was true to their connection, culminating in a meaningful vow exchange against the backdrop of Iceland's stunning landscapes.

Shayln & Bart’s experience on eloping at Kvernufoss:

“We chose to have our ceremony at Kvernufoss per Lisa’s suggestion and we were not disappointed one bit. We originally wanted to have the ceremony at Seljalandsfoss, but knew there would be numerous tourists there and didn’t want that lack of privacy. Lisa suggested Kvernufoss, as you still get to be right up to the waterfall, but without all the tourists. It really is a beautiful hidden gem! We were able to have the ceremony be whatever we wanted it to be, and not a single tourist showed up, so we had the waterfall all to ourselves. It was the most magical experience.

If there’s any advice I can give about choosing your location or even choosing Kvernufoss, it would simply be to trust Lisa! Lisa goes above and beyond to figure out what you want for your wedding day, and she forms her suggestions around those wants. Be as communicative as you can about any little detail you want for your day, and let her do her thing!”
