I'm Lisa, an Iceland elopement photographer and experience designer based in Vík, South Iceland. I help couples plan private, adventurous elopements around how they actually want their wedding day to feel, with local knowledge of Iceland's weather, access and changing conditions built into the experience from the beginning. You get to be present for the day you're travelling all this way to have. I'll take care of the planning around it, from finding places that fit you to knowing when Iceland might need us to change the plan.

This is home. My planning is shaped by actually living here and experiencing South Iceland's weather, roads, seasons, access and visitor patterns throughout the year. Location Guidance Based on the Experience You Want
I'll narrow the possibilities down based on what matters to you, along with the season, access, weather and how much adventure you actually want. You won't receive a catalogue of beautiful places and another twenty decisions to make.
A Timeline Built Around the Experience
We'll give the day enough structure that you know what's happening, while leaving room to actually experience it. Meals, warming up, driving together and ten quiet minutes after your ceremony are allowed to be part of your wedding too.
Weather and Backup Planning
Iceland gets a vote. I'll monitor conditions, adjust our timing when necessary and think through alternatives before we need them. If Plan A changes, the goal is to protect what mattered about it, whether that was privacy, adventure or somewhere quiet for your vows.

Your elopement can be as simple or adventurous as you want it to be. My job is to make sure the Iceland around it supports the kind of day you actually want to have.

There doesn't need to be a performance, and we don't need to fill every part of the day just because we can.
I want you to have enough space to notice what's actually happening. To finish your vows before thinking about what comes next. To warm up when you're cold. To stay somewhere longer because you're enjoying yourselves.

I'm Lisa. I've been a professional photographer for 11 years, and today I plan and photograph elopements from my home in Vík, South Iceland.
Living here has changed the way I work.
I see how quickly the weather can turn, which roads become difficult after a storm, when familiar places are surprisingly quiet and when the plan we loved yesterday isn't the one I'd recommend today.
That firsthand knowledge comes into everything from choosing locations to deciding what time we leave in the morning. It also means I'm thinking about the less exciting details, like road conditions, access and whether there's somewhere sensible to warm up along the way.

Can you help us legally get married in Iceland?
Yes, I'll guide you through the paperwork and connect you with the right officiant to make your marriage legal in Iceland. If you need another witness for the ceremony, I can also sign as one of your witnesses.
Do you photograph same-sex and LGBTQ+ elopements in Iceland?
Absolutely — all couples are welcome, and I have experience photographing LGBTQ+ couples in Iceland.
How far in advance should we book our Iceland elopement?
Most couples book their Iceland elopement one to two years in advance, although I can sometimes take bookings with as little as three months' notice. If you're planning on shorter notice, availability will depend on your dates.
What happens if the weather is bad on our elopement day?
I'll start monitoring the weather three days before your elopement and adjust your locations, timeline, or even the day itself when conditions require it. Every elopement includes backup days, and if road closures make the original plan unrealistic, I'd rather move your elopement to the next day than rush you halfway across Iceland trying to escape a storm.
