Seljalandsfoss waterfall elopement in Iceland, Michelle + Alex

Seljalandsfoss Waterfall Elopement in Iceland.

While Iceland may seem like a dreamy destination to elope, the hard reality often hits with its unpredictable weather – wind, rain, and an occasional chill that can make any romantic notion seem distant. But for Michelle and Alex, the duo that they are, none of these realities stood in the way. They embraced the challenges and got married next to a waterfall, making water a central theme of their day.

Embracing Iceland's Unpredictable Weather.

Iceland, with its otherworldly landscapes, has become a coveted destination for elopements. However, the dreamy visions often meet a harsh reality check with the island's notorious weather. Wind and rain can be unwelcome guests, turning the romantic notion of an outdoor ceremony into a logistical challenge. But Michelle and Alex, aware of Iceland's temperament, were undeterred.

Instead of chasing the elusive perfect weather, Michelle and Alex accepted the unpredictability of Iceland's climate. Their elopement day wasn't about avoiding the rain but navigating through it, proving that sometimes, it's the raw and unfiltered moments that make the best memories.

Tying the Knot Next to a Majestic Waterfall.

The duo chose to tie the knot next to a waterfall, fully aware that it could mean a misty and wet ceremony. The cascading water served as a powerful backdrop, emphasizing the untamed beauty of Iceland while adding an adventurous edge to their vows.

After the ceremony, Michelle and Alex continued to embrace the water element, making it an integral part of their elopement day. Rather than seeking shelter from the rain, the couple opted for a rainy photoshoot. The glistening droplets added a natural sparkle to their pictures, capturing the essence of Iceland's moody weather and turning a potential setback into a unique and authentic visual story.

Michelle and Alex's willingness to let the rainy day be part of the adventure reflected a deeper commitment to embracing life's uncertainties. Rather than seeking perfection, they found beauty in the imperfections, making their elopement day a genuine reflection of their relationship. Their elopement day wasn't about creating a flawless, picture-perfect event. It was about being true to themselves and finding joy in the authenticity of the moment. The rainy day became a part of their story, adding character to their narrative.

Michelle & Alex’s testimonial:

“Our Iceland elopement with Lisa was amazing from the moment we began exchanging emails with her. Our first impression was just how professional and organized she was. Lisa responded to our emails incredibly fast and always had detailed information and assistance for us. We had a few virtual chats with her while we were in the planning phase and it felt so natural, like planning an adventure with a friend (who knows all about Iceland!). She helped us finalize our locations, prepared us for what to expect, eased all of our worries, assisted us with other vendors, and even helped us find a dry cleaner! All of this in addition to being an amazing photographer and capturing stunning photos of our special day.

The entire day was an amazing, cold, and rainy adventure, but Lisa truly helped make it fun and memorable. Our favorite photo location was the glaciers which were actually a last minute addition to the day! We wouldn't have even known about the location if Lisa had not told us about it and led us there. She knows all of the best secluded spots to take amazing photos. Overall our experience with Lisa was wonderful and we are so happy to have worked with her.”
