Snaefellsnes peninsula elopement in Iceland | Ena & Steven
Ena & Steven’s elopement at Snaefellsnes peninsula was stunning. The couple had already got married in the US and they came to Iceland to read out their vows to each other. Ena & Steven had picked the Snaefellsnes peninsula for their day since it was its own mini Iceland while providing more private waterfall options, lava fields, stunning views and also seeing the most famous Black Church in the country!
Ena & Steven had rented an Airbnb apartment in the heart of Reykjavik where they got ready in the morning together. The apartment was in such an amazing location; you could see the domestics flights landing in Reykjavik and see Hallgrimskirkja. Ena’s bride style was absolutely lovely and I loved how she had a jacket as her final touch to her style and gave rock roll bride vibes.
The day before the weather channels had promised heavy rains to the Snaefellsnes peninsula but more the time passed and when rain radar was being checked, the more the rains moved away from the area and the couple got to enjoy their vows reading without the rains.
The couple also wanted to be spontaneous in where they wanted to read their vows. They wanted the place to feel special when they would visit it and decide then. One of the locations Ena & Steven had picked out was a much more private waterfall. It took 20 minutes to walk there from the car, uphill and also some river crossing by foot. A couple of times we thought we wouldn’t be able to get over but we managed to jump on the rocks and made it to the waterfall. And that place was the right for Ena & Steven to read out their vows.
On your most memorable day as a couple, nothing makes it more memorable than having privacy while reading out your ceremony or reading out your vows. Even if Iceland is one of the most popular tourist destinations, the land still offers privacy to have your vows read out.

Snaefellsnes peninsula for your elopement in Iceland.
Snaefellsnes peninsula is located in the west part of Iceland and it has been told to be mini Iceland itself! As an area, it’s not so heavily run as the South Iceland region with tourists visiting the locations. So it can be an excellent option to consider having your elopement day. Snaefellsnes peninsula can also be done as a day trip from Reykjavik if it’s something you would prefer. If you do have extra days while being in Iceland, you can very much find things to see and do in the area. The peninsula is about 2 hours drive away from Reykjavik.
Snaefellsnes peninsula is known for its national park; Snaefellsjökull national park. Snaefellsjökull is a glacier that is situated on top of a volcano.
The Snaefellsnes peninsula also has beautiful fishing villages and farmlands that are very authentic in Iceland. There are mainly living only around 5000 people in the peninsula so the villages are small and very cute looking ones! You should stop to visit villages like Hellissandur and Ólafsvík.
The peninsula offers a lot of waterfalls, caves, lava fields and volcanic features.
Ena & Steven’s testimonial of their Iceland adventure:
“We cannot recommend Lisa enough! She helped us perfectly plan our vow renewal photo shoot, and was very responsive and helpful during every step of the process. Lisa made us feel extremely comfortable on the day of the shoot and curated beautiful landscapes to backdrop our special day. She really went above and beyond!
We absolutely loved how our photos turned out and are thrilled that we decided to go with Lisa. What an amazing experience!”
