Adventurous Elopement at Kvernufoss Waterfall, Iceland | Kealey & Preston

Kealey and Preston's Vision for Their Intimate Elopement

In a world where grand weddings with massive guest lists have become the norm, Kealey and Preston took a different path. Their vision for their elopement was centred on simplicity, practicality, and a profound connection to nature. Instead of navigating the complexities of a traditional wedding, they chose to focus on what truly mattered: their relationship and the breathtaking beauty of Iceland.

Kealey and Preston’s primary goal was to create a day that was straightforward and meaningful. They wanted an experience that allowed them to focus solely on each other, without the distractions and pressures of a large wedding. This desire for simplicity drove every aspect of their elopement.

For Kealey and Preston, the essence of their wedding day was their love for one another. They envisioned a ceremony that was intimate and personal, where they could share their vows in a setting that reflected their relationship. By choosing to elope, they eliminated the need for elaborate preparations and instead concentrated on their connection.

Their decision to keep things simple meant that every element of their day was intentional. From the quiet moments of getting ready together to the heartfelt exchange of vows, each part of their elopement was designed to celebrate their love in its purest form. This focus on their relationship allowed them to fully immerse themselves in the experience, creating memories that would last a lifetime.

Kealey and Preston’s love for nature was a major influence on their decision to elope in Iceland. The country’s stunning landscapes provided the perfect backdrop for their special day, aligning with their values and enhancing the overall experience.

The Magic of Exchanging Vows at Kvernufoss.

The couple selected Kvernufoss Waterfall for their vow exchange. This secluded location allowed them to escape the hustle and bustle of more popular tourist spots, providing an intimate atmosphere where they could connect with each other and the surrounding nature. The cascading waters of Kvernufoss created a natural symphony that underscored the sincerity and emotion of their vows.

Their elopement was not just about the ceremony; it was about the journey and the moments they shared along the way. By immersing themselves in Iceland’s natural beauty, they created a wedding day that was both adventurous and profoundly meaningful.

Picnic and letters from loved ones.

After the intimate and emotional exchange of vows at Kvernufoss Waterfall, Kealey and Preston's elopement day continued with a beautifully simple and heartfelt picnic,

Kealey and Preston chose a picturesque spot near the waterfall for their picnic, where the sound of the cascading water served as a soothing backdrop. They spread out a cosy blanket and unpacked a basket filled with their favourite foods. The picnic included an assortment of fresh fruits, artisan bread, local cheeses, and a selection of their favourite beverages.

One of the most touching parts of their picnic was the reading of letters from their loved ones. Knowing that they would not have family and friends physically present at their elopement, Kealey and Preston had asked their closest loved ones to write letters to be read on their special day. These letters were filled with heartfelt messages, well-wishes, and words of wisdom.

As they opened each letter, they felt the love and support of their family and friends, even from afar. Reading these messages brought tears of joy and laughter, adding an extra layer of meaning to their elopement. Each letter was a reminder of the important people in their lives and the bonds that, despite the physical distance, remained strong and supportive.

Reading the letters also gave Kealey and Preston a chance to reflect on their journey together. Many of the letters included memories of their relationship, words of encouragement, and expressions of pride and happiness for the path they had chosen. These reflections reinforced their decision to elope in such a meaningful and personal way, and they felt a deep sense of gratitude for the support of their loved ones.

Kealey’s & Preston’s testimonial:

“Kvernufoss was a magical and secluded spot for our vow ceremony! It wasn't too far off the beaten path but still felt like an adventure getting there. Being right next to the roaring and misting waterfall, professing our love and commitment to each other was exhilarating! It's a feeling and memory I will never forget.
After our ceremony, we hiked back out to enjoy a small celebratory picnic next to the water, and by golly, that view of the falls behind us was worth it all! It was a day straight out of a fairy tale!

Lisa made our dream elopement come to life!
We loved getting to explore different beautiful locations in Iceland and Lisa knows all of the private spots to capture gorgeous candid photos (with a little direction lol).

From the start Lisa was quick to respond and extremely organized and detailed. We felt pretty lucky to be able to set a date with her only two months before our elopement!
She was so attentive to our desires and helping us plan our day and gave us lots of creative ideas on what could be possible.

We exchanged vows next to a private waterfall, had a picnic with cake and celebratory drink, read letters from our parents and exchanged necklaces instead of rings.

It's impossible to pick a favourite picture! Lisa's style of photography is exactly what we envisioned and she captured our love so perfectly! We are so grateful for her and feel we have gained a friend for life ❤️”
