Our elopement process and how it works.

Let’s meet.

A free consultation for you to get a feel for what it'll be like working together. We'll chat about your dreams and visions, and how we can make it all work and to make your eloping in Iceland come possible. In which part of Iceland you would love to get married and which elopement package would best fit you? Some couples want to have guidance and step-by-step directions to follow while planning their elopement and to have everything turned into pictures. Other couples don’t need that much of help and want to have their elopement package simple and nice.

Lock it in.

When you have decided on your elopement date and your elopement package, I will send you an invoice for the deposit and contract to sign to make it official. Yay! Your elopement journey to Iceland will start from here! If you have chosen the Iceland elopement package that includes an “Elopement roadmap” you will be getting monthly to-do tasks and have unlimited consultation from me and to book online meetings with me.

Nail the details of your Iceland elopement.

You will be getting location suggestions and a timeline of your day. The places I have worked the most, I have a long list of beautiful and private places to say your vows. I will be spending hours finding the perfect place for you. All you need is to pick up your favourite. When we have reached to when and where we be able to book the flights and accommodation? With your day’s timeline, I will also let you know how far the locations are from your accommodation.

And finally, it's your day! We will have an amazing adventure together and I will be photographing for you. Saying "I do" at sunrise or sunset, seeing together beautiful views. I will be on all day watching out for every special moment so that you can simply enjoy the day!

Sometimes it can feel a lot to plan your elopement -especially in another country! Everything from how to find the right vendors, choosing your locations and who will make your marriage official!

This book was created for you. To have guidance on your elopement planning and to take action. Planning your elopement to another country might not feel like the easiest task. By recording your thoughts and answering this workbook’s questions (about the meaning of your day, building up your ceremony, ideas for the photo session and more!) your planning will become easier.

Most asked questions about working with Lisa and about Iceland elopement.

Do you visit locations where we want to have our pictures taken?

Yes, I do location visits before your elopement day. Even though there are locations I have been to before, I still check them out to see has the area has changed since the last visit. Most of my couples don’t have a chance to visit the locations before their elopement day. Even we would be having your day in a far-off destination, I would be still checking on the location.

Are you also a wedding planner?

No, I’m not a wedding planner which means that I can’t book anything for you; and that means other vendors, your stay-in, etc. I will assist you in planning your elopement day. If you want to book a wedding planner who does it all from bookings etc, I can give you suggestions

How much do you charge for travelling?

My travelling expenses are all including in the package so there won't be any surprise cost for you!

Do you work alone?

I do photograph elopements alone but there is always the option to book a second shooter with me. This is especially a good option when you have quests with you and are doing activities so everything can be covered in photos. I also work with videographers.

What if the weather is terrible?

Since it's Iceland we are talking about, the weather can change a lot without giving a warning. I always reschedule the shoot if there is a storm alert ahead or the conditions are dangerous no matter where in Iceland you will elope. That’s why I always recommend having option B for your elopement day and if needed, postponing your day for the next day.

What happens if we need to postpone or cancel our elopement in Iceland?

I always seek to find you a new day in my calendar if you need to postpone your wedding. Once you have paid the deposit, re-scheduling can be done without extra cost. If you decide to cancel your wedding, the deposit won’t be returned since I have kept your date secured and it covers the cost of the work I have already done for you.

How does the payment schedule work?

I require a booking fee of 50% of the package to secure your day in my calendar. The remaining amount will expire 1 month before your day. You can also split the payment into 3 if you like.

My other half doesn’t like to be photographed. What can we do?

I can relate to this myself very much and I have worked with many couples that don’t enjoy being in front of the camera. One option is to have a photo session the day before your wedding day and this gives an amazing opportunity for you to see how I work and to be much less nervous on your wedding day. Of course, when I first take my camera out, you might feel a tinkle in your stomach but soon all you can see is the one you are getting married with and enjoying your day together.

I’m not sure what elopement package to choose.

No worries! At the start of the elopement planning, couples are not sure how many hours they should book. You can mention this in your message, and I will create you a timeline of your day so you can see what options you have and how elopement day is created.

How will I receive my photos?

Firstly, I'll send you a handful of sneak peek shots a couple of days after your wedding. 4 weeks later, you'll receive a link to your online gallery and relive your wedding day. Depending on the mail, you'll also receive a beautiful package in the mail with a USB, prints and a little thank you from me.

How long will it take to receive our photos?

It will take roughly 4 weeks to receive your final wedding photos. I put a lot of love and care into perfecting each image, which is why it'll take me a little bit more time to deliver your final images. If you'd like your photos sooner, please ask me about the rush fee.

We don't want our photos on social media.

This is your elopement and if you are uncomfortable with your photos being shared on my social media platforms, I will respect that. Just let me know and we are good to go :)

What happens if disaster strikes?

This has never happened and will NEVER happen. However, if it did, I have contacts all over Iceland that will be able to step in. These are other talented photographers who will take good care of you.
