Asatru ceremony in Vik, South Iceland| Caroline & Daniel

Asatru wedding ceremony

Caroline and Daniel's elopement was not just a day; it was a two-day celebration of love, family, and the breathtaking beauty of Iceland.

On the first day of their two-day elopement adventure, Caroline & Daniel hiked on one of the biggest glaciers, exchanged more private vows and did ice climbing. You can check the first day from here.

On the second day of their adventure, they shifted the focus to sharing their joy with their nearest and dearest. From getting ready together with family members to exchanging heartfelt vows, every moment was filled with anticipation and emotion, culminating in a first look that captured the essence of their love story.

Caroline and Daniel took the time to write personalized vows that reflected the depth of their commitment to each other. As they prepared to recite their vows during the ceremony, the words they had written served as a reminder of the journey they had embarked on together and the future they were about to create as husband and wife.

One of the most poignant moments of Caroline and Daniel's elopement was the first look. As they stood on the rugged coastline of Iceland, surrounded by the raw beauty of nature, anticipation hung in the air. When Daniel turned to see Caroline for the first time in her wedding dress, the emotion was palpable. At that moment, time seemed to stand still as they savoured the sight of each other, their hearts overflowing with love and gratitude. The first look wasn't just a photo opportunity; it was a deeply meaningful exchange between two souls who were about to embark on a lifelong journey together.

The first look added an extra layer of anticipation and emotion to Caroline and Daniel's elopement day. It was a moment of quiet reflection amidst the excitement of the celebrations, allowing them to pause and appreciate the significance of the day.

Asatru ceremony on the black sand beach.

Caroline & Daniel decided to get married on a black sand beach and what came as a lovely surprise was the following; when Caroline’s father walked her down the beach, a horse tour was happening at the same moment and the horses walked behind Caroline and her father.

The Asatru ceremony (Norse Pagan ceremony) began with a solemn invocation to the gods, calling upon them to bless the union of Caroline and Daniel. As the officiant spoke ancient words of wisdom, the couple exchanged vows and rings, sealing their commitment to each other before the eyes of the gods and their loved ones. During the ceremony, the couple exchanged their vows and also drank from the horn.

An Asatru ceremony is a unique way to celebrate getting married and making it more unique on having a destination elopement.
